What Does A Wedding Stylist Actually Do?

What does a wedding stylist actually do I hear you ask? A wedding stylist main role is to design,  decorate your wedding space for you and  bring your wedding vision to life. They will create a colour palette and pull together the design, as well as coordinating and working closely with your florist and stationery suppliers to create a cohesive look. A wedding stylist role on the day will be to execute the set-up , and make sure both the ceremony and reception space are set up, so you don’t have to.  A stylist’s focus is all about the aesthetics – getting creative and making your day look and feel exactly how you want it to.

A wedding stylist main skill is to be able to transform a space and create the wow factor. It’s something I am truly passionate about and here’s how it works:

Where do we start?

Firstly if you’re interested in hiring a wedding stylist we’d typically start with an initial chat going through the vibe, colours, feel and key words for your wedding day. Once I have all the information I pull together a mood board, which helps to build on the look and feel of the day. I create a colour palette, put together some ideas and inspiration so you can see how what your celebration could look like.

Then what happens?

Once you’ve approved the mood board, and you’re happy with where it’s going. I start researching and sourcing props, decor, stationery, linens etc to start to pull together the ceremony and wedding meal design. We then arrange a site visit to the venue to make sure the design will fit and work in the space, and make any tweaks where necessary. Following on from the site visit I continue working on the design and ensure there’s a cohesive look and feel to the day and recommend some amazing suppliers who I know will help me bring the design together.

Finally we have a meeting to run through and finalise all the details, and then once the day is finally here. I set about working my magic with my amazing team of helpers, and liaising with florists and stationery suppliers to ensure you don’t have to worry about a thing. I love setting up all the details and seeing months of work finally come together. I then get to reveal the room to you on the day.
